Germania Community Development Association

The Germania Community Development Association (GCDA) is a not for profit 501(c)(3) organization that was established in 1995. The association's core purpose is to financially assist local individuals and families that need assistance with their living expenses due to an illness or accident. The association also grants scholarships on a yearly basis to individuals from local high schools and contributes to other local charities and organizations within the local community.

The association raises money throughout the year through public and private cash donations, merchandise donations that are sold at the yearly benefit auction, and through various other fund-raising events conducted throughout the year.

Many individuals and local organizations have benefitted throughout the years from our support. We have done everything from building wheelchair ramps, assisting with medical bills, giving people gas cards to go to doctor appointments, giving scholarships to local high schools, donating to police and fire departments, and donating to other various local charities and fund-raising events in the area.

As of this year, the association has donated over a quarter of a million dollars back to the community since 1995.

If you or anyone you know in the local area needs any type of assistance, please contact Missy Heller at 920-293-8448 for more information. Your request will be evaluated by the board members, and you will have a response within a few days from your original request.

Get Involved!

The GCDA is already planning for next year's annual fundraiser. We are looking for participants and donations for the day's events. Here's how you or your business can get involved.

  • 5K - Participate as a walker/runner. Registration opens soon. Want to sponsor this event? Contact us on the Longbranch Saloon Facebook page for more information.
  •  Parade - Build a float! We are hoping to continue to grow the parade and need to add more participants. Local businesses and individuals are encouraged to join in on the event by being in the parade.
  • Bake Sale - Packaged and priced baked goods are accepted the morning of the event.
  • Live Auction - Donations of large auction items are graciously accepted.
  • Gift Basket Raffle - Donations of gift baskets and smaller (non-auction) items from individuals and local businesses are graciously accepted.

We ask that all donated items are new and in the original package. New, handmade items are also accepted.

We cannot accept unpackaged or used items.

Donors and participants will be acknowledged at the event and on our Facebook page.
